Programming Keyless Entry
KEYLESS ENTRY
These steps will work for both wagon and sedan with differences noted:
1. SEDAN: Pull down the trunk lining material on the left side trunk compartment to access the programming connector. It is located about half way
betwee the left rear taillight and the left trunk hinge. It will be a grey wire with black stipe and have a 2 pin connector, it hangs down from the wire
loom running back to the left rear taillight.
WAGON: Remove the right rear back body pillar finish pannel to access the programming connector.
2. Ground the programming connector by contacting the two terminals together using a screw driver or something metal, it must stay grounded for
the entire programming process. By jumping these two pins together the system will enter the programming mode. The system will verify this has
occured by performing a lock all, unlock drivers door/unlock all, and trunk/endgate cycle.
3. All remote transmitters must be programmed at this time (up to 4). Press any key on the first transmitter, this step will program this particular
transmitter to the receiver. The system will verify by performing the same lock/unlock, lock/unlock cycle. If a second transmitter needs to be
programmed, simply press any key on that transmitter. The system will verify by performing the same lock/unlock, lock/unlock cycle.
4. Disconnect the grounding from the programming connector. The system will not operate if the ground connection is not removed.
5. Verify operation of each transmitter.
6. Reposition rear compartment lining for sedan or for wagon re-install rear pillar finish panel.
